Listed more than onceA line in the lab's list that names a test already on the list. The advertised count goes up by one; you still get one result. We show the lab's own labels, exactly as printed, so you can check each one yourself.
2 lines of the advertised count come from 2 tests listed more than once.
- Same test, listed twiceTwo names for one test, or the same name printed twice. Often the test appears in two sections of the report, such as the lipid profile and a heart risk panel. It is one reading from one sample.+1 in the count
“GFR Category” and “CKD Classification” are two names for GFR Category: one reading from one sample, so it counts once.
- Same result, written another wayOne result written a second way: sorted into a category, converted to other units, or turned upside down as the reciprocal ratio. Nothing new is measured.+1 in the count
“ACR Category” is the Albumin-Creatinine Ratio result sorted into a band (normal, raised, high). Same result, not a second measurement.

Real tests, and free maths
20 of these 58 aren’t tests. They’re arithmetic on results you already paid for. No extra sample, no extra assay, no extra cost to the lab. Each one still adds a line to the advertised count.
This package is advertised as 64 tests. 34% of what we could resolve is calculated rather than measured.
Show the arithmetic›what each calculated value is worked out from
- Blood Urea Nitrogen= Blood Urea ÷ 2.14
- GFR Category= Banding of the eGFR value
- eGFR= CKD-EPI equation on creatinine, age and sex
- Bilirubin Indirect= Total Bilirubin − Direct Bilirubin
- A/G Ratio= Albumin ÷ Globulin
- Globulin= Total Protein − Albumin
- SGOT/SGPT Ratio= SGOT ÷ SGPT
- BUN / Creatinine Ratio= Blood Urea Nitrogen ÷ Creatinine
- Non-HDL Cholesterol= Total Cholesterol − HDL
- VLDL Cholesterol= Triglycerides ÷ 5
- Albumin-Creatinine Ratio= Urine Albumin ÷ Urine Creatinine
- Estimated Average Glucose= (28.7 × HbA1c) − 46.7
- Absolute Basophil Count= WBC count × Basophil %
- Absolute Eosinophil Count= WBC count × Eosinophil %
- Absolute Lymphocyte Count= WBC count × Lymphocyte %
- Absolute Monocyte Count= WBC count × Monocyte %
- Absolute Neutrophil Count= WBC count × Neutrophil %
- MCH= Hemoglobin ÷ RBC count
- MCHC= Hemoglobin ÷ Haematocrit
- Mentzer Index= MCV ÷ RBC count
None of this means a calculated value is useless. eGFR is calculated and doctors act on it every day. The narrower point is the one that matters when you are comparing prices: these were not separately tested, so they should not be separately counted.
Every input above is itself on the same report. For example, Bilirubin Indirect needs nothing beyond Bilirubin Total and Bilirubin Direct, both already measured.
