Listed more than onceA line in the lab's list that names a test already on the list. The advertised count goes up by one; you still get one result. We show the lab's own labels, exactly as printed, so you can check each one yourself.
3 lines of the advertised count come from 3 tests listed more than once.
- Same test, listed twiceTwo names for one test, or the same name printed twice. Often the test appears in two sections of the report, such as the lipid profile and a heart risk panel. It is one reading from one sample.+1 in the count
“Cholesterol, Total” and “CHOLESTEROL TOTAL”: the same name printed twice in the lab's list. It is one Total Cholesterol reading, so it counts once.
- Same test, listed twiceTwo names for one test, or the same name printed twice. Often the test appears in two sections of the report, such as the lipid profile and a heart risk panel. It is one reading from one sample.+1 in the count
“Lipoprotein(a); Lp(a)” and “LIPOPROTEIN(A); LP(A) (NE” are two names for Lipoprotein (a): one reading from one sample, so it counts once.
- Same test, listed twiceTwo names for one test, or the same name printed twice. Often the test appears in two sections of the report, such as the lipid profile and a heart risk panel. It is one reading from one sample.+1 in the count
“Homocysteine, Quantitative” and “HOMOCYSTEINE QUANTITATIV” are two names for Homocysteine: one reading from one sample, so it counts once.

Real tests, and free maths
24 of these 74 aren’t tests. They’re arithmetic on results you already paid for. No extra sample, no extra assay, no extra cost to the lab. Each one still adds a line to the advertised count.
This package is advertised as 72 tests. 32% of what we could resolve is calculated rather than measured.
Show the arithmetic›what each calculated value is worked out from
- Beta Cell Function (HOMA-B)= (20 × Fasting Insulin) ÷ (Fasting Glucose − 3.5)
- HOMA-IR= (Fasting Insulin × Fasting Glucose) ÷ 405
- Insulin Sensitivity (HOMA-S)= 100 ÷ HOMA-IR
- Cholesterol / HDL Ratio= Total Cholesterol ÷ HDL
- Non-HDL Cholesterol= Total Cholesterol − HDL
- VLDL Cholesterol= Triglycerides ÷ 5
- Apo B / Apo A1 Ratio= Apolipoprotein B ÷ Apolipoprotein A1
- Blood Urea Nitrogen= Blood Urea ÷ 2.14
- GFR Category= Banding of the eGFR value
- eGFR= CKD-EPI equation on creatinine, age and sex
- Bilirubin Indirect= Total Bilirubin − Direct Bilirubin
- A/G Ratio= Albumin ÷ Globulin
- Globulin= Total Protein − Albumin
- SGOT/SGPT Ratio= SGOT ÷ SGPT
- BUN / Creatinine Ratio= Blood Urea Nitrogen ÷ Creatinine
- Estimated Average Glucose= (28.7 × HbA1c) − 46.7
- Absolute Basophil Count= WBC count × Basophil %
- Absolute Eosinophil Count= WBC count × Eosinophil %
- Absolute Lymphocyte Count= WBC count × Lymphocyte %
- Absolute Monocyte Count= WBC count × Monocyte %
- Absolute Neutrophil Count= WBC count × Neutrophil %
- MCH= Hemoglobin ÷ RBC count
- MCHC= Hemoglobin ÷ Haematocrit
- Mentzer Index= MCV ÷ RBC count
None of this means a calculated value is useless. eGFR is calculated and doctors act on it every day. The narrower point is the one that matters when you are comparing prices: these were not separately tested, so they should not be separately counted.
Every input above is itself on the same report. For example, Beta Cell Function (HOMA-B) needs nothing beyond Fasting Insulin and Fasting Blood Sugar, both already measured.
